The Harris campaign has launched a new ad focused on “Project 2025,” a far-right policy proposal from the Heritage Foundation and Trump allies. The ad targets Black Americans in key battleground states, warning that the plan would strip voting rights, eliminate the Department of Education, and monitor women’s pregnancies. Harris offers an alternative to this extreme agenda.
Despite Trump disavowing Project 2025, Democrats continue to link him to the proposal, with President Biden suggesting it was written for him. Many of the authors of the project have ties to Trump, and the plan has become a key campaign issue for Harris.
While the Trump campaign has tried to shift focus to its own “Agenda 47,” Project 2025 remains a concern for many young voters who see it as either a guide to less government oversight or an authoritarian takeover. Gen Z voters overwhelmingly prefer Harris over Trump, with many planning to vote for her in November.
The Harris campaign plans to focus on Project 2025 in an upcoming debate against Trump, aiming to highlight the dangers of this extreme agenda. Despite efforts to downplay the plan, it remains a significant issue in the election, particularly among key demographics like Black Americans and young voters.
