Art as a Lifestyle, a popular candle making and art supplies business, is moving into a new location at The Bluestocking Bookshop in Holland Township. The move is expected to start on Sept. 1, with the business reopening on Sept. 6 for candle making. Previously located at the Not So Shabby Marketplace, owner Maranda Shear cited the need for added flexibility and availability for both herself and her customers as the reason for the move.
Art as a Lifestyle, home to Candle-ology where customers can create their own soap, lotion, and candle scents, first opened in the fall of 2018 in the Holland Town Center. Shear mentioned that she has gone through several moves and hopes to train bookshop employees on the candle making process so the business can operate even when she is not present.
Shear expressed excitement about the move, as it will allow for the business to be fully staffed and open multiple days a week. The collaboration with The Bluestocking Bookshop is seen as a perfect fit for both parties, with Shear mentioning that the community support behind the bookshop is a big deal for Art as a Lifestyle.
