The fourth annual Wiener Nationals event at Moberly Motorsports Park will be giving a free vehicle to a veteran this Sunday. The proceeds from the event will benefit Cars 4 Heroes, an organization that provides vehicles to veterans in need. Terry Franz, one of the founders of Cars 4 Heroes, expressed that having a car allows veterans to go to work, take their children to school, and run errands, among other things. Franz emphasized that the cars given to veterans are not just gifts, but tools that help them function in society.
Franz also credited the public and communities for providing vehicles to the organization, sharing a heartwarming story of a mother and her daughter being able to go to the store and get what they want because of the vehicle they received. The winner of the car this year is a woman who served in Columbia at the University of Missouri with training at ROTC.
In addition to the car giveaway, the Wiener Nationals event will feature dirt track racing with MLRA late model cars and POWRi cars from the Trophy Tuesday series. The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will lead the charge as the pace car during the event. The event aims to bring together the community to support and honor veterans who have served their country.
