With the inability to calculate accurate carbon footprint data due to manual quality control and spreadsheet storage, Elia Group decided to create a digitized environment to enhance reporting and identify areas for improvement. By partnering with Flexso and utilizing SAP’s Business Technology Platform, Elia was able to develop a robust Scope 3 Accounting platform.
The new software has already revolutionized Elia Group’s reporting capabilities, providing transparency on the carbon footprint of investment activities and driving the maturity level of their scope 3 data. In addition to emissions data, the platform also offers insights into resource scarcity, logistical bottlenecks, and material origins. Recognized for their innovation, Elia Group won the Transportation Titan Utilities category at the 2024 SAP Innovation Awards.
