The city of Columbia is gearing up for the start of the 2024 Mizzou football season, with nearly 60,000 fans expected to attend the game against Murray State on Thursday evening. Columbia’s Convention and Visitors Bureau spokesperson, Megan McConachie, has expressed a desire to enhance the fan experience by providing information on parking, tailgating, shuttle services, and lodging options. In addition to the game, fans can look forward to a halftime show featuring Marching Mizzou along with 300 choreographed drones from Sky Elements.
Band director Amy Knopps has collaborated with Sky Elements to synchronize the band’s music with the drones’ lights, promising a unique and engaging performance for fans both on the field and in the sky. Drum major Brady Sohn emphasized the importance of timing and tempo in ensuring that the drones align perfectly with the band’s execution during the show.
