Campers in Westmoreland County destroyed

A fire broke out at Camping World in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, early Wednesday morning, causing more than a dozen campers to catch fire. The blaze, which was reported at around 4:40 a.m., was accompanied by roughly a dozen explosions from propane tanks on the vehicles. Thankfully, prompt reporting and the quick response of ten fire departments prevented the fire from spreading to the business. Although initial reports suggested 15 campers were involved, the final count was at 18.

Rachel Ramsey, who witnessed the fire from her home, described feeling nervous and worried that the fire would spread. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no one was taken to the hospital. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire and will be reviewing surveillance video from the store to gather more information. The state police fire marshal is leading the investigation.

Despite the destructive nature of the fire, it did not result in any injuries or major property damage beyond the campers. Chief Dan Uncapher commended the swift response of emergency crews and the public for their vigilance, which likely prevented more extensive damage. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety and the quick actions of first responders in preventing disasters. Further updates on the investigation will be provided as more information becomes available.
