The region is preparing for a significant increase in the older population by 2030, with 25 percent of the population expected to be over the age of 60. In response to this demographic shift, Aging Together is hosting its Annual Art of Aging Lifestyle & Wellness Expos to provide valuable information and resources for older adults, their families, and caregivers.
The Expos will cover a wide range of topics including assistance with chores, healthcare screenings, chronic disease management, caregiver support, and more. The events aim to help people stay independent and informed as they age. Over 600 people attended last year’s Expos, and even more are expected this year with the addition of the Fauquier Expo.
The Expos will be held at three different sites in the region, making it accessible to a wide audience. Attendees can expect to find resources for healthy habits, stress management, physical activity, transportation, food options, vaccines, and health assessments all in one convenient location.
Aging Together emphasizes the importance of seeking information and support before a crisis occurs, as knowledge is power when it comes to aging independently. The Expos are free of charge and open to anyone in the region, regardless of residency. No registration is required to attend.
The mission of Aging Together is to connect people to communities and resources to improve quality of life as they age. For more information about the upcoming Expos, visit Aging Together’s website or call (540) 829-6405.
