Former Blue Springs School Board president, Bobby Hawk, is facing allegations of misconduct as more individuals come forward with accusations against him. Lead Pastor Bobby Hawk from Epic Church KC has taken leave after resigning from the school board. Five people have publicly identified themselves online as victims of Hawk’s alleged misconduct.
Izzy Davis, a former youth leader at Epic Church KC, recounted her experience with Hawk, citing discomfort and red flags regarding his behavior. The Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA) has emphasized the importance of recognizing safe and unsafe touch and encourages individuals in doubt to seek help from authorities or their crisis hotline.
While no charges have been filed, the Blue Springs Police Department is investigating the allegations against Hawk. MOCSA urges parents to have open conversations with their children about body boundaries and consent.
Epic Church KC has placed Hawk on leave pending review but has not mentioned an official investigation. The church’s decision to cancel services this Sunday reflects the seriousness of the allegations. Davis believes there may be more victims yet to come forward. MOCSA emphasizes the importance of institutions responding appropriately to allegations of misconduct. Parents are reminded to educate their children about personal boundaries and ensure they feel empowered to speak up about any unwanted touch.
