The Missouri Department of Conservation has issued an emergency fish salvage order for North County Park Lake in Cape Girardeau County Park due to a major leak causing a drop in water levels. Anglers are allowed to remove as many fish as possible to prevent a fish kill from lack of oxygen and shallow lake conditions. Fish can be taken by various methods except for those on the endangered species list. A valid Missouri Fishing Permit is required for anglers between the ages of 16 and 65. The order is in effect until September 30. Cape Girardeau County North Park Lake is 8.1 acres and managed by the MDC through the Community Assistance Program.
