Former independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr and former Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard have been named to Donald Trump’s campaign transition team, according to reports. The team will be responsible for selecting personnel for a potential second Trump administration if he wins the November election. This move comes as Trump seeks to consolidate support against Kamala Harris, who polls show is posing a strong challenge to his re-election bid. Kennedy recently dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Trump, while Gabbard, who ran for president as a Democrat in 2020, has since left the party and endorsed Trump as well.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration suffered a setback in allowing undocumented spouses of US citizens to remain in the country while their permanent residence applications are considered. A federal judge in Texas temporarily blocked this program, affecting about half a million individuals and sparking concerns about separating families and changing their legal status requirements.
Trump is also focusing on selling digital trading cards, promising physical cards with pieces of his debate suit to buyers, a strategy that proved successful in the past.
Harris, on the other hand, is facing criticism from the Trump campaign for not scheduling any interviews since starting her bid for the White House, which they argue shows her reluctance to discuss her “radical agenda.” However, the Harris campaign is rolling out plans to lower housing costs by constructing up to 3 million new housing units and providing financial assistance to first-time homebuyers. Her campaign will also rally voters in battleground states like Georgia to secure victory in the upcoming election.
