The suspect in the shooting, who was believed to be her boyfriend, was found dead nearby from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation revealed that the two were dating and were in a troubled relationship. The suspect may have been from Florida, and it is believed that he entered the residence with Avila’s access.
