Four Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air strikes on the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank, following clashes with Israeli forces near Tubas. The strikes came after Israeli forces targeted a money exchange shop in Jenin, claiming it was linked to Hamas. The clashes in Aqqaba, near Tubas, were sparked by the discovery of an undercover Israeli unit, leading to armed confrontations.
Witnesses reported Israeli bulldozers and warplanes in the area before the strikes, which resulted in the deaths of four people. Fatah, the leading Palestinian movement, condemned the attacks as part of Israel’s “assassination policy”, urging the international community to intervene.
Additionally, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society reported 16 arrests in the West Bank, bringing the total number of Israeli arrests to nearly 10,000 since October 7.
The attacks and arrests have raised concerns about escalating tensions in the region and have been met with criticism from Palestinian groups. The Palestinian Authority has accused Israel of seeking systematic escalation with American support in an effort to undermine Palestinian rights.
Overall, the situation in the West Bank remains volatile, with continued violence and unrest between Israeli forces and Palestinian groups. The international community has been called upon to put an end to what many see as a campaign of aggression and oppression against the Palestinian people.
