In a bizarre turn of events, independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr released a video on Sunday admitting to staging a scene in New York’s Central Park a decade ago involving a dead bear cub and a bicycle. He claimed this was an effort to counter an anticipated negative story about him in The New Yorker. Kennedy recounted how he came across the bear while on a falconry expedition in the Hudson Valley. The bear was later found in Central Park with trauma to its body, sparking a mysterious investigation that remained unsolved until now.
In the video, Kennedy admitted to putting the bear’s carcass in his van with plans to skin and eat it later, but ran out of time before catching a flight. He and his group then came up with a plan to place the bear on an old bike in Central Park to make it look like the bear had been hit by a bicyclist. The incident garnered widespread attention on news stations, prompting Kennedy to worry about being implicated. Kennedy and actor Roseanne Barr shared a laugh about the situation in the video, acknowledging that The New Yorker had discovered his involvement and that it would be a “bad story.”
This revelation is just the latest in a series of bizarre incidents involving Kennedy during his presidential campaign. He has previously admitted to having a parasite in his brain and denied eating a dog in a photo shared with Vanity Fair, claiming it was a goat. Kennedy’s unconventional approach to his campaign has generated concern and division within his famous family, as well as among Republicans and Democrats.
