In Gaza, an Israeli strike hit a tent camp at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, killing four people and injuring others. Another strike flattened a house in northern Gaza, killing at least eight people. A school-turned-shelter in Gaza City was also hit, resulting in at least 16 deaths. Israel claims to avoid harming civilians but rarely comments on individual strikes. Gaza’s Health Ministry does not differentiate between civilians and militants in casualties. Hamas militants killed 1,200 people and took hostages in an attack on southern Israel. Israel’s offensive in Gaza has killed at least 39,550 Palestinians and displaced the majority of the population multiple times. Hezbollah has engaged in clashes with Israel along the Lebanon border to support Hamas. Over 590 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since the start of the war. The Palestinians seek the West Bank, Gaza, and east Jerusalem for a future state. Tensions between Israel and militant groups have escalated, raising fears of a wider regional conflict.
