Hundreds of teachers in Mid-Missouri will receive complimentary school supplies on Tuesday.

KidSmart, a nonprofit organization, and Ameren are teaming up to host a drive-thru event for Mid-Missouri teachers to receive free school supplies. Taking place at the Walmart Supercenter on Conley Road, 300 teachers from 43 eligible schools will have their cars loaded with $400,000 worth of supplies, benefiting around 10,000 students. This pilot program, the first of its kind in Mid-Missouri, aims to support teachers and students in need.

Volunteers from KidSmart, Ameren Missouri, Walmart, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Starbucks will be on hand to greet teachers and help distribute the supplies. The event is a great opportunity for the community to come together and show support for educators who work hard to provide quality education to their students.

This initiative comes at a time when teachers are facing challenges due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, making resources and supplies even more valuable. By providing teachers with the necessary tools, KidSmart and Ameren hope to alleviate some of the financial burdens they face in order to create a positive learning environment for their students.

The event is a testament to the power of collaboration and community support in ensuring that teachers have the resources they need to excel in their roles. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story and join the conversation on how we can continue to support educators in our community.
