Dutchess County Places 6th in the Nation for Top Technology Practices in Mid-Size Governments – Daily Freeman

Dutchess County, N.Y. Ranks 6th in Digital Counties Survey for Best Technology Practices

In the 2024 Digital Counties Survey, Dutchess County in New York was ranked sixth in the nation among mid-size county governments for its best technology practices. Conducted by the Center for Digital Government and the National Association of Counties, the survey highlighted the county’s efforts to enhance cybersecurity, streamline service delivery, and apply innovative technologies to county priorities.

Much of the praised work is carried out by the county’s Office of Central and Information Services (OCIS), which recently played a key role in restoring county operations and services after a technology outage affected millions of Microsoft Windows users, including many in the Dutchess County Government.

OCIS is also focused on increasing cybersecurity preparedness throughout the county and hosts an annual Cyber Security Summit. The previous year’s summit, held at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, featured a discussion on best practices in artificial intelligence and its use among cybercriminals.

Dutchess County Executive’s office announced this achievement and encourages those interested to learn more at the provided link. For more information, visit https://bit.ly/3A1QC9V.
