Fresno EOC has awarded Nuvve Holding Corp. a $16 million contract to supply a three-acre solar farm, solar canopies, and 56 charging stations for Fresno’s 50-shuttle electric fleet. The project aims to improve air quality, reduce operational costs, and provide additional electricity to the grid during peak hours. Nuvve’s vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology will help power Fresno EOC’s operations and transition its gas vehicles into an electric fleet.
The project, expected to take 24 months to complete, will employ about 80% of its workforce from Fresno area residents. Fresno EOC’s workforce and training program will also receive education on energy and solar projects. This initiative underscores Fresno EOC’s commitment to sustainable transportation and reducing the city’s carbon footprint.
Fresno EOC secured grant funding for the project through the Carl Moyer Memorial Air Quality Standards Attainment Program, with rebates from PG&E also supporting the initiative. Nuvve’s V2G technology has been implemented in various communities globally, reflecting its commitment to meeting the unique energy needs of each region.
Nuvve’s V2G technology has been deployed on five continents, offering electrification solutions for fleets and accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles. The company’s focus is on making the grid more resilient, transforming EVs into mobile energy storage assets, and supporting global transitions to clean energy.
