Rapper and singer Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, have been indicted in South Florida on federal charges of fraud totaling over $1 million. The indictment alleges they participated in a scheme to defraud victims of high-end specialty vehicles, jewelry, and other goods using fraudulent documents. Kingston was previously booked on similar state charges after being arrested at an Army training base in California. Turner was arrested at Kingston’s rented mansion in Florida during the same raid. The federal indictment accuses them of falsely claiming to have executed monetary transfer payments for high-end items when they had not actually done so, resulting in over $1 million worth of fraudulently obtained goods. State charges allege they stole jewelry and money from various banks and businesses.
Kingston, known for hits like “Beautiful Girls,” was already serving probation for a previous crime. His mother had previously been convicted of bank fraud. Their attorney did not immediately respond but has previously stated they are confident of a successful resolution. The case continues to unfold as authorities investigate the extent of Kingston and Turner’s alleged fraudulent activities.
