The announcement was made following a unanimous decision by ICUM members during a meeting on June 27.
In her new role, Katie Gamble will continue the work of advancing the mission of independent institutions in Missouri, supporting their impact on higher education and the state’s economy. With a background in government relations and lobbying, she brings a wealth of experience to the position, having previously worked at Gamble & Schlemeier, a prominent government relations firm.
Dr. Roger Drake, President of Central Missouri University and ICUM, expressed his excitement about Katie’s appointment, citing her strong qualifications and dedication to private higher education. Members of ICUM praised Bill Gamble for his years of service and expressed confidence in Katie’s ability to lead the association into the future.
ICUM represents a diverse group of four-year independent colleges and universities in Missouri, including institutions such as Avila University, Saint Louis University, and Washington University. Through their work, ICUM aims to raise awareness of the value of the independent sector and support its continued growth and success.
