Actress Eva Longoria, known for her role in Desperate Housewives, has recently taken up the sport of Padel and is making waves in the Padel community with her newfound hobby. With over 10 million followers on Instagram, Longoria made her debut in the Hexagon Cup last year as the owner of the ElevenEleven Team USA. This past Tuesday, she participated in the Star Padel Slam, a charitable event held in Marbella with proceeds going towards the Casa Ángeles initiative of the Global Gift Foundation.
The event, which took place at the Nueva Alcantara Marbella paddle tennis club, featured other celebrities like football player Marcos Alonso, Paquito Navarro, Gemma Triay, Juan Martin Diaz, and Pablo Cardona. The Casa Ángeles project aims to provide children with uncommon and chronic diseases with state-of-the-art therapies and treatments through a multipurpose center. The initiative, supported by a team of occupational therapists, psychologists, speech therapists, and physiotherapists, currently assists around 500 families and close to 800 children.
In an interview with Efe, Longoria expressed her excitement for the upcoming Global Gift summer gala, the foundation’s main event in Spain. She highlighted the positive response the event has garnered and the support received from fellow celebrities and athletes in the Padel community. Longoria’s involvement in Padel and dedication to charitable causes demonstrate her commitment to using her platform for social good.
