Jimmie Coleman, 50, of North Liberty, Iowa, was driving a 2019 Harley Davidson westbound when Michael Kramer, 46, also from North Liberty, Iowa, driving a 2022 Harley Davidson, attempted to move to the highway’s shoulder and was hit by Coleman’s motorcycle. As a result, Coleman’s motorcycle overturned, causing both Coleman and his passenger, Shala Coleman, 42, also from North Liberty, Iowa, to be thrown off.
Both Jimmie Coleman and Shala Coleman sustained moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment. The details of their injuries were not disclosed in the report. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by authorities.
This incident highlights the importance of safety precautions while riding a motorcycle and the potential risks involved in sharing the road with other vehicles. Both Coleman and Kramer were experienced riders, yet accidents can still occur. As the summer season continues and more motorcycles take to the roads, it is crucial for all drivers to remain vigilant and practice safe driving habits to prevent such accidents from happening in the future.
