The Plattsburg Tigers’ 1979 state championship football team was recently inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. The team, which went undefeated with a 12-0 record and beat Marceline in the Class 2 state title game, was honored in Kansas City. Richard Wade, a member of the championship team, highlighted the importance of teamwork in their success, emphasizing that the team did not rely on standout superstars. He also mentioned that many of the team members have gone on to achieve success in their careers. Additionally, eleven players from the team received postseason honors during the championship season.
