Kansas man sustains serious injuries in Fourth of July boating accident in Missouri.

A Kansas family’s Fourth of July boating trip took a terrifying turn when 54-year-old Patrick C. Lee of Manhattan, Kan., was seriously injured after jumping out of a boat at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Lee was hit by the propeller of a 2015 Regal boat driven by 22-year-old Aidan R. Lee, also of Manhattan.

The accident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, at mile marker 36 on the Osage arm of Lake of the Ozarks. Emergency responders were quickly called to the scene where they found Patrick Lee with serious injuries. He was promptly transported to Lake Regional Hospital for medical treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident. No further details about the circumstances surrounding the accident have been released.

As the summer season is in full swing, it serves as a reminder of the importance of boating safety. Accidents on the water can happen suddenly and without warning, resulting in serious injuries or even fatalities. Authorities urge all boaters to practice caution and adhere to safety guidelines while out on the water to prevent further accidents.
