Two children are among the victims of the Tennessee tornado: here are the casualties


Six people died and dozens were injured after multiple tornadoes tore through Middle Tennessee on Saturday. In Nashville, a 37-year-old man named Joseph Dalton died while trying to protect his 10-year-old son and his partner from the twister. A mother and her 2-year-old son, Floridema Gabriel Perez and Anthony Elmer Mendez, also died in their mobile home in Nashville. In Clarksville, 34-year-old Stephen Kwaah Hayes and 59-year-old Donna Allen, visiting from Florida, lost their lives. Additionally, 10-year-old Arlan Coty, a 4th grade student with a passion for basketball and history, died in the tornado. He couldn’t make it out of his home in time. The community has come together to support these families through donations and fundraisers, but the devastation of this natural disaster still weighs heavy.

A Hispanic Family Foundation online fundraiser supports Perez’s husband, Felipe Mendez, who lost his wife and son.
The online fundraiser has raised nearly $14,000 of a $50,000 goal to assist Mendez with funeral expenses.
Friends and the community have reached out to help the family of Donna Allen who was visiting from Florida when she died.
Arlan’s family, Katherine and Kyle Burnham, issued a statement describing his passion for basketball and history.
